This is great for normalising the concept of decentralised social media 👍
If you have a Fediverse account, please do mention it on your website! The more people see these icons, the more comfortable they will be finding out more.
I hope you guys like new features :)
There's some pretty awesome work happening in elementary land at the moment. There are a lot of significant new developments that are all lining up in the wings getting ready to launch. It's gonna be a fun rest of the year!
Dont worry everyone I found #qanon, they're my neighbor. Hes pretty cool, sometimes he smokes weed on his back porch.
Again, mainstream corporate owned media companies show their true colors. YouTube is awful garbage.
Thank you again @Gargron for the excellent platform. And more importantly thank you to the team behind ActivityPub.
It's 2019 and I finally got a 4G Internet connection!
Bosnia was literally the last county in Europe with no 4G coverage for like half a decade. That ended about a month ago and today's the day when I finally got a replacement SIM card.
I look forward to spending my mobile data far more quickly than I was able to spend it over 3G.
Desire from new blood to work at #Facebook is dropping off a cliff.
Facebook routinely offers jobs to graduates from top schools like Stanford. But.
The acceptance rate of those jobs has plummeted from around 90 percent in 2016 to 50 percent this year so far.
It's working. #DeleteFacebook
Open letter to fediverse about purism
is fine, but remember their prime motive is not to be a social media giant. They intent was to provide libre hardware and software (gnu/linux) to the masses. Something that is missing right now with Android and iOS oligarchy. Let them do that and do not undermine their progress. As for #libremone, Give their code of conduct a chance, and don't get enraged before something actually happens.
Hey, #Firefox-using friends—
If you lost access to your add-ons this past weekend and you tried some advice to set `xpinstall.signatures.required` to `false` in `about:config`, you should
1. install the latest update, and
2. flip that setting back to `true`.
It's important to have this setting on to help protect you against malicious extensions.
(Don't @ me about whether you personally need or want Mozilla to sign the extensions you use. Consider this toot may not be for you.)
GoT S08E03 criticism
Why is Jon still alive?
Beric was brought back to life multiple times. His purpose was saving Arya, after which he died one last time. Melisandre served her purpose and died.
Lord of Light brought Jon back to life. Presumably, his purpose was to gather the army that would defend them against White Walkers. Wasn't his purpose fulfilled as well?
Every other plot related to Lord of Light ended in this episode. Yet when it looked like Jon was about to die, he just walked away.
